Michelle is a faculty scholar at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research at North Carolina State University. Michelle received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership with a cognate in Statistics at Clemson University . She currently is Editor for the Career & Technical Education Research Journal. Michelle has extensive experience designing and facilitating training for post-secondary education, business, and government programs. Michelle creates programs in Executive Leadership, Change, Conflict Management, Empowering Middle Management, Improving Training Effectiveness, and Instructional Design. She serves as a leader for the local ATD chapter’s eLearning SIG.
Carrol has an extensive background spanning across 18 years helping adults navigate through their educational and career journeys. Her educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Meredith College, a Master of Education degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctorate of Education in Adult and Community College Education from North Carolina State University. She is credentialed by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Her work experiences include faculty appointments teaching ethics in the workplace and evaluation and program planning and working to advocate for students with disabilities. She serves in a consultative capacity as a partner with Higher Path Consulting Group, LLC and with the Social Security Administration. Strengths from past work experiences include higher education administration and leadership, crisis intervention, and vocational counseling and assessment.
Dr. Katherine Kandalec Holm is an assistant professor of Career and Technical Education at Athens State University and has also recently served as an executive level mentor for doctoral students and a coach for community college faculty.
Dr. Holm received her doctorate in Adult and Community College Education from North Carolina State University and her Master’s in Workforce Education and Development from the University of Georgia. In addition, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and two Associate’s degrees.
Katie has served on the board of directors for numerous nonprofits, including the Athens Clarke Literacy Council in Athens, Georgia, the Athens Land Trust, the Georgia Music Industry Association, and the Athens Technical College Alumni Association. Professional association positions include executive board positions with the Association for Career and Technical Education Research, Omicron Tau Theta, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Sherida is a compassionate leader who strives to be a change agent in the field of higher education. With over twenty years in the field, she is a champion for working with the underserved and first-generation college students. Dr. Gholston has an eclectic background. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a master’s degree in Counselor Education from Virginia State University, and a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Northcentral University. Dr. Gholston believes that given the proper tools and resources, anyone who desires to succeed will.
Throughout her career, she has been afforded numerous appointments and honors, to include the HCC Presidential Leadership Award 2015-2016, and the Presidential Above and Beyond Award, 2017-2018. She is known on her campus and in the community for initiating the first leadership development institute for faculty and staff in 2012, at the request of the president, where she mentors faculty and staff year-long. Dr. Gholston has a thirst for knowledge and considers herself a life-long learner. She takes pride in offering her time, talent, and resources to assist those in her community and beyond. Dr. Gholston is an active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serves on several distinguished boards, to include the North Carolina Community College System Student Development Association, the North Carolina Community College System Strategic Enrollment Management Taskforce, and the Kemba Smith Foundation Advisory Board.

Andrea has over 18 years of experience helping high school students and adults with educational assessment, planning, and career goals. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology as well as a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Psychology and Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill, she obtained her Doctorate of Education in Adult and Community College Education from North Carolina State University and maintains credentialing as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. She is a partner with Higher Path Consulting Group, LLC where she provides vocational evaluations, counseling, labor market analysis, and consultative services to the Social Security Administration. Her previous work centers around servicing community college students, administering vocational evaluation services for a state agency, and advising students with disabilities. bio
